2024-2025 Technique Training III Pathway

2024-2025 Technique Training II Pathway

Technique Training Pathway 2025-2026

Pathway Definition:

  • The Technique Training Pathway is a technical dance program designed to enhance the dancer’s technical foundation in genre-specific training classes. This pathway is offered in four sections: Technique Training I (Ages 6-7), Technique Training II (Ages 8-9), Technique Training III (Ages 10-13), and Technique Training IV (Ages 14+).  Dancers in this pathway can create a customized schedule of classes appropriate for their dancer interests. All technique training dancers perform in the End of the Year showcase with the potential to perform in the Winter Showcase.
  • Students registering for the Technique Training Pathway are registering for a "season long" commitment of 37 weeks of dance training. The EADE 2025-2026 season starts August 4th, 2025 and ends on the day of the Trading Floor Showcase (scheduled for May 30th, 2026).

Pathway Opportunities:

  • Technique I (Ages 6-7) students can take up to 1.5 hours of technique classes per week in the following genres: Ballet/Acro, Tap/Jazz, and Hip Hop. Dancers can choose which sections to take; however, the classes cannot break the 30-minute sessions into smaller classes.
  • Technique II (Ages 8-9) students can take up to 4.75 hours of technique classes per week in the following genres: Jazz, Acrobatics, Tap, Flexibility, Ballet, Hip Hop, and Pom. Dancers can choose which classes to take. A program can be developed to accommodate a student’s desire to focus on a specific genre if requested. (For example, students can request to participate in 45 minutes of ballet and 30 minutes of tap rather than the entire block training offered by the program.)
  • Technique III (Ages 10-13) students can take up to 4.25 hours of technique classes per week in the following genres: Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap, Acrobatics, Ballet, Flexibility, and Pom. A program can be developed to accommodate a student’s desire to focus on a specific genre if requested. (For example, students can request to participate in 45 minutes of acrobatics and 30 minutes of hip hop rather than the entire block training offered by the program.)
  • Technique IV (Ages 14+) students can take up to 5 hours of technique classes per week in the following genres: Ballet, Acrobatics, Tap, Pom, Hip Hop, Jazz, and Flexibility. A program can be developed to accommodate a student’s desire to focus on a specific genre if requested. (For example, students can request to participate in 60 minutes of ballet and 30 minutes of tap rather than the entire block training offered by the program.)

Pathway Entry Requirements:

-All dancers’ age placements are determined by the dancer’s age as of August 1st.

- Technique I dancers are required to take Foundations of Dance at EADE prior to participating in Technique Training I if under the age requirements.

- No prior dance experience is necessary to register for Technique Training II, III, IV. However, students must fall within the appropriate age range. Students must complete the registration process, uphold EADE policy, and make timely payments in exchange for EADE services.

- Students are placed in the appropriate class based on age. Students under the required age can request access to older level technique classes by registering for Technique Auditions in July. The results of the auditions will determine the students’ placement in the appropriate level class according EADE’s knowledge requirements for each class.

-Students may request access to classes beyond the dancer’s age range throughout the season. Students must be able to define and perform the terms and skills listed in the knowledge requirements documents in order to be granted access to Technique Training classes outside the dancer’s age range. Teacher discretion can override the results of the knowledge review.
