Level I classes build on concepts taught in our Foundations classes. It is recommended dancers attend Foundations prior to attend Level I camps/classes.

AUDITION PROCESS FOR COMPETITION TEAMS
At EADE, we offer three competitive team experiences. Competition teams are season long commitments (August - May) in which dancers' placement is determined by an audition process held in July.
Below outlines the audition process for each team.
EADE will host an interest meeting to review team seasonal expectations, the audition process, and answer any questions on June 29th from 3:00-5:00.
MINI TEAM

Must attend ONE "Dance Camp" for the appropriate age group
AND
Must attend ONE of the MT “Mini Team” Audition Days:

July 17th 5:00pm-6:00pm

PERFORMANCE TEAM

ELITE TEAM
AUDITION PROCESS
Must attend ONE dance camp ("Dance Camp")
AND
Must attend ONE of the ET "Elite Team" Audition Days:
July 3rd 6:00-8:00
July 17th 7:00-9:00
Soloist auditions will be available and dancers wishing to audition must come prepared with a self choreographed solo to the audition day.
AND
Must register for an interview on ONE of the available interview days:
July 5th
July 12th

Open studios will be held to provide dancers with time to prepare solos/rehearse for auditions on the following days: (July 3rd 9:00-10:00 and July 17th 10:00-11:00)
TEAM SUMMER COMMITMENT
Mini Team, Performance Team, and Elite Team Agreement Meeting:
July 27th 1:00 pm- 4:00 pm
In this meeting we will review the expectations of our team members for the upcoming season. Attendance is required by both the dancer and a parent.
Mini Team, Performance Team, and Elite Team Agreement Choreography Days:
07/28, 07/29, 07/30, 07/31
We will begin constructing our competitive routines on these days. Times are dependent upon audition results.
Elite Team Retreat:

Frequently Asked Summer Questions
What are Mini Team Auditions like?
Students will be asked to perform in ballet, jazz, acro, and tap genres. Combinations and preparation will be provided during the Dance Camp. This audition allows EADE to define the appropriate training program for the dancers' skills.
What are Performance Team Auditions like?
Students will perform up to two combinations that they will learn during the audition. They will have an opportunity to showcase any additional skills/technique.
What are Elite Team Auditions like?
Students will be asked to perform in ballet, jazz, acro, and tap genres. Combinations and preparation will be provided during the Dance Camp. This audition allows EADE to define the appropriate training program for the dancers' skills.
What is the Solo Audition like?
Dancers who register for the solo audition are asked to perform a 1-minute piece in their preferred solo genre. This piece must be improv or student choreographed. This audition allows the dancer to be considered for the soloist opportunities within the Performance Pathway.
What is the Interview like?
Students interested in the Elite Team will meet with EADE teachers in an interview to determine the dancer's goals and fit for the performance pathway. Interviews will last 10 minutes. The dancer will meet with EADE staff for the first five minutes, and then, the dancer's parent is welcome to join for the last five.
What is the Assistantship Program?
Students 14 and older or in Technique Training II will have the opportunity to assist classes: Foundations 3-4, Foundation 5-6, Technique I, Technique II, and Technique III classes. Students wishing to assist must attend assistant training.
What do I wear to auditions and the interview?
Female dancers should wear ballet pink convertible tights and a solid black leotard with their hair in a secure bun for technique and solo auditions. Male should wear all black fitted athletic clothing with their hair securely styled for technique and solo auditions. All dancers should bring the appropriate shoes for ballet, jazz, and tap. Dancers will roll up tights and perform the acro audition barefoot.
When will I find out the results?
Results of the audition will be emailed to dancers on Saturday, July 13th, 2024. All selected Performance dancers will be required to attend a season agreement meeting on July 14th, 2024, at 1:00 pm where we will review the expectations for the season. Performance choreography will begin July 16th, 2024 - July 19th, 2024 and July 23rd-July 26th, 2024. The choreography schedule will be provided in the welcome email on July 13th.
